Photovoltaic Innovation Network nserc

About Us

The Photovoltaic Innovation Network is a partnership between the research community, industry, government, funding agencies and advocacy groups to foster and accelerate the widespread adoption of photovoltaics as a renewable energy resource in Canada.

Our purpose is to Provide a networking ground between industry members and researchers in the photovoltaic's community across nation.

The network aims to provide a knowledge and technology base that will help Canada compete globally in this rapidly growing sector. It will help develop new intellectual property in PV for adoption by Canadian industry to supply strong domestic demand currently met by foreign companies.

Most important device metrics are energy conversion efficiency and cost (in $/W). Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary research program has the specific objectives of increasing the device conversion efficiency and/or reducing the device cost to make large scale PV deployment more competitive against electricity generation from fossil fuels.
